On June 25, 1997, Bulgarian Vice President Todor Kavaldzev met at the Sejm with Marshal Jozef Zych. They talked about bilateral contacts, including cooperation between the two countries' parliaments, and about Poland's and Bulgaria's aspirations to join the EU. Kavaldzev thanked Poland for the assistance supplied to his country during the acute political, social and economic crisis that his Bulgaria half a year earlier.
On June 25, Sejm Deputy Marshal Marek Borowski received a delegation of leaders of the American Jewish Committee. The main topic of the exchange was the current situation in Poland in the context of the approaching parliamentary elections. The visitors were also interested in state-Church relations and in the work on the ratification of the Concordat. Marek Borowski pointed to the many noteworthy elements of the history of Polish- Jewish relations, stressing the intensive development of contacts between Poland and Israel and Jewish organisations in the United States.
On June 24, Sejm Marshal Jozef Zych received a farewell call from the outgoing ambassador of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Nazem Ahmed Choudhury.
